Here is what I have to offer : 2 winners 1 book each USA Only of Guard of Fate. Thanks to L.J. Kentowski for allowing me giveaway 2 books for the hop. My review is below.
Fear of death is all too common. Visions of it chill the bones and skip heartbeats. Seeing it coming and knowing only you can rescue the soul of the victim from the fiery bowels of hell…that’s downright life-altering.
Cassandra Cosgrove’s life was altered at the age of sixteen when she found out that it was her responsibility to save the lives, and ultimately the souls, of innocent victims targeted by Hell’s demons. As impossible as it seemed at first, she was able to live a fairly normal life, while secretly fulfilling her obligation as a Guardian of Fate.
But years later Fate has its own plan when her visions begin drastically changing at the same time two mysterious men appear in her life. Cassandra suddenly finds herself caught in a battle between good and evil, with her own soul on the line. When it seems everyone in her life has a secret they’ve been hiding from her, who can she trust to be the Guardian of her Fate?
Since the age of 16 Cassie has been trying to save all the strangers she can as she is a Guardian. The Guardian’s have visions of accidents the demons cause to kill people and send their souls to HELL. Now the tables have turned and they want Cassie. She can’t trust anyone, her mom has secrets, her roommate even have her own agenda and has secrets. Everyone is keeping something from her. Two men come around Caleb and Hunter who would like to have her and they even have secrets. Everyone wants to save Cassie, but they do not understand the truth would be a better help then keeping all the secrets from her.
The story was fun to read, I wanted more of a story line between Hunter and Cassie, but otherwise a great read. One thing about Cassie that is irritating, she can forgive everyone else for the secrets they kept from her but not when it comes to Hunter. It will be interesting to see how things go for the two in the next book.
I will be looking forward to reading the 2nd book and see what happens with the father as well.
Second Prize: 3 winners 1 ebook each of Ancient Canada thanks to Clinton Festa. My Review is below.
Ancient Canada is a story of mythology for an alternate Canada. Two sisters, Lavender and Marigold, are exiled into a journey of their known world. Using Lavender’s unique ability to see life and death, they survive in the wild. Along their travels they meet a giant stone creature, a bog man, Prince Oslo of Svalbard, a race of Feathermen, and many others. Each chapter is a different narrator who shares their story, philosophy, and encounter with the two sisters.
At the end of their journey, Marigold assembles the chapters of these various narrators. Ancient Canada is that story. What you read is what was gathered by Marigold and published for her contemporaries. The world of Ancient Canada may be unlike anything you’ve read in 1,000 years.
Lavender and Marigold are sisters. Lavender can see life and death while Marigold writes up the stories. Each chapter is told from a different character. This is what I loved most about the book. Not only does Clinton write wonderful characters you can attach yourself to the research is remarkable. Watching the girls grow up through life was interesting they had to adjust to many things. The tales of myths and the twists and turns will keep you turning the pages in this wonderful read.
