Guest Author Seraphina Donavan

Babs….When did you know you wanted to write?

Seraphina: I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t writing. Even as a kid, I’d fill notebook after notebook with stories and ideas. Publishing wasn’t something that even entered my mind until maybe 2010? It was something I’d put off for “someday” and then I just had this epiphany one day that it was now or never.

Babs…..What would you like your readers to get out of books?

Seraphina: Just pleasure. I don’t feel this driving need to write the great American novel. I want to provide happiness, entertainment, a little sexiness to get you through the boring work week.

Babs…..Do you have a current project in the works?

Seraphina:  Too many to count. Working on an anthology with my writing partner. Working on the third book in the DuChamps’ Dynasty Series. Working on a paranormal regency which will be published as Chasity Bowlin. Working on a few other things here and there, as well.  Always juggling.

Babs…..Do you have a ritual when you are writing? ie coffee, music, food etc

Seraphina: Music and Pinterest. I build a custom playlist and a storyboard for everything I write.

Babs…..Hobbies outside of writing?

Seraphina: Travel. Shopping. Live music.

Babs….What book or books are you currently reading?

Seraphina: Not reading anything now, too busy. Last book I read for pleasure was by Jacqueline Rhoades. Wolver’s Choice. Loved it.

Babs….If you could be one character from one of your books who would it be?

Seraphina: That’s a hard question. Maybe Ophelia from Been Loving You Too Long. She gets to have it all. Hot hubby with a fairytale ending.  Money. Luxury.

Babs…Favorite drink?

Seraphina: Coke for nonalcoholic. Alcohol, I’m becoming  a big fan of Angry Orchard.

Babs…..What is your favorite ice cream?

Seraphina: Anything chocolate.

Babs….What is your favorite food?

Seraphina: It varies. Comfort food is always fried chicken and gravy and biscuits. Not nearly as good as my mom made, but I’m getting there.

Babs…Anything else you would like to add? ( links to any blogs/sites to follow etc)

Ophelia Broulliard’s life has always been linked to the wealthy and powerful DuChamps family. The granddaughter of the family’s housekeeper, she’s worshipped Vincent DuChamps from afar–the ever unattainable prince in her fairy tale dreams. Little does she know that Vincent harbors his own secret feelings for her, but other darker secrets that he sees as an insurmountable obstacle to ever being the man she deserves, have prompted him to avoid her altogether.

When Thomas, the family patriarch dies, his will bears some unpleasant surprises for them both. Thomas wants nothing more than for Vincent and his siblings to be happy, and in his final act as the only father figure they’ve ever had, engineers a series of contingencies in his will that require them each to face their demons. Only too aware of what Vincent really feels for Ophelia, Thomas creates a situation that will force Vincent to confront his feelings. Unless, Vincent and Ophelia marry, Vincent and his siblings will lose everything, including the family business.

Forced into such close proximity, denying their attraction for one another becomes impossible. But even as they grow closer, other threats to the future of DuChamps Hotels and all that Vincent holds dear threaten to destroy their burgeoning relationship. Ophelia has played it safe her whole life. Taking a risk on Vincent is a frightening prospect. Will it be worth it, or will his secrets break both their hearts?
