Now for the review.

Blurb:

Holiday time is party time in New York City, but after a sparkling winter bash ends with a murder, Village Blend coffeehouse manager Clare Cosi vows to put the killer on ice… At the Great New York Cookie Swap, pastry chefs bake up their very best for charity. Clare is in charge of the beverage service, and her famous Fa-la-la-la Lattes make the gathering even merrier. But her high spirits come crashing down to earth when she discovers the battered body of a hard-working baker’s assistant. Police suspect a serial attacker whose escalating crimes have become known as “The Christmas Stalkings.” Clare’s boyfriend, NYPD detective Mike Quinn, finds reason to believe even more sinister forces are involved. Clare isn’t so sure, until she finds a second bludgeoned baker and becomes a target herself. Now Clare must investigate “Saint Nick,” crash a pro-hockey party, and dodge a pair of reality TV divas–because she’s not going to rest until justice is served.
Includes holiday and cookie recipes!

My thoughts:

What could be better being over the beverage service at the New York Cookie Swap?  Clare trying to solve two murders before she will be next.  Holiday Buzz like the others in the series, has a lot of humorous situations to keep the reader laughing.  We also have several leads to keep us on track for the mystery as well.  With both you are in for a treat of a read.

As we have the Cookie swap going on, we have Clare fitting herself in a dumbwaiter pulling herself up to the kitchen of a baker whom she thinks is the serial killer. If that is not funny enough, we have Madame going undercover at the Evergreen Recreation Center.  As soon as I started reading about the set up I started laughing out loud as to what to expect.  We all know the scene was bound to be good.

Along with the usual characters we are introduced to some new ones as well that I hope to see again.  It was nice to see some of the “old” characters and learn a bit more about them as the series moves along.  I am very fond of this series as the Cleo and her husband always have the right amount of suspense and romance intertwined for Clare.  I look forward to each new release to see what Clare will find herself involved in.

**I was given a free copy by the author for an honest review.  Hope you read the story and decide for yourself how you like it.**

Cleo’s got it all together with her writing and keeping the fans wanting the next book the instant they are finished with the one before. I long for a place to get coffee and talk with friends like the Village Blend offers with food and beverages and of course the ambiance. Add to that the adventures and the interesting people, especially the men that Cleo has coming into her coffeehouse, and you sure do want to go to the Village Blend every day just to see what adventures are happening. She makes this all seem so real doesn’t she???
