X Marks the Scot by Victoria Roberts

He was wicked with a bow and arrow and just as wicked with the ladies. Declan MacGregor hadn’t a care in the world beyond finding a soft bed and a willing woman…until he had to escort Lady Liadain Campbell to the English court. The last living relative of their rival clan, the woman needles him at every turn, but he can’t just abandon her to that vipers’ nest without protection. With rumors of witchcraft and treason swirling around court, all Declan wants is to return home, but he must stay true to his mission…or is there something more behind his decision to stay?

My thoughts:

Declan and Lady Liadian did not get along to well in the beginning. Declan had to keep an eye on Liadian but wanted to do his own thing. When he would leave her alone she wanted him to stay. She was growing an attachment to him. When they started to try and like each other the King order the two to bed wed after she gave her statement about her brother and how he was killed.

Now they arrive back to the MacGregor land and things start to take place. Can the two come to love each other like they really want to deep down or will Declan back off?

A lovely read for love and dedication between the two families. It was nice to see Declan grow up a bit and take his life under control.
